Elvis Presley’s Aloha from Hawaii, the 40th Anniversary Celebration will be held Thursday, January 10 – Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Elvis’ concert, “Aloha from Hawaii,” in 1973 was the very first concert broadcast live via satellite around the world and is regarded as the most watched broadcast by an individual entertainer in television history.

In addition to several concerts, including his 1961 performance which raised over $62,000 for the building of a memorial over the USS Arizona at Pearl Harbor, Elvis enjoyed Hawaii as a location for scenes for three of his films and as a vacation destination to relax with family and friends.

Elvis’ motion pictures, “Blue Hawaii,” “Girls! Girls! Girls!” and “Paradise, Hawaiian Style,” were all filmed in Hawaii with many of those scenes highlighting the beaches of Waikiki. Songs from the soundtracks of these movies have become classics that are easily recognizable and associated with Hawaii.

Elvis in Hawaii has influenced a new line of fashion apparel and fine jewelry manufactured and distributed exclusively by Pomare, Ltd. (parent company of Hilo Hattie) and offered to select retailers in Hawaii, including all Hilo Hattie store locations and at HiloHattie.com.

Kang, President and Chief Executive Officer of Pomare, Ltd. “We welcome Elvis’ new line of fashions to our assortment of name brands within our Hilo Hattie Stores.
