Fundraising T-shirts For Japan Earthquake & Pacific Tsunami Relief Efforts

Hilo Hattie will be offering two different designs of t-shirts with 100% of the profits being donated to the American Red Cross for Japan relief efforts. The shirts will sell for only $9.99 each plus tax and will be sold in all eight Hawaii stores.

One design is “Aloha for Japan” with the time and date of the earthquake and with the islands of Japan, like a lei, draped in the middle of the “rising sun”. On the back of this t-shirt design are words of encouragement translated into Hawaiian. The concepts of Hope, Heal and Help are felt by all, as Japan continues to deal with the disasters of March 11, 2011.

The other design is the red Hinomaru (“rising sun”) with a heart design around it that says “feel the aloha…..”. In a symbolic way, the people of

Hawaii, wants Japan to know that we send our Aloha to them and that we love them.

The t-shirts are for sale on Oahu and the neighbor island stores will start selling on Monday, 3/28. T-shirts will be available for sale online at HiloHattie.com by the end of March.

“As more news of Japan becomes available, it is obvious that more aid and assistance is needed for recovery,” says Donald B.S. Kang, President and Chief Executive Officer of Pomare, Ltd., parent company of Hilo Hattie, “therefore, Hilo Hattie has produced exclusive benefit t-shirts to provide another venue to donate to the American Red Cross for Japan Earthquake & Pacific Tsunami relief.”
