Hilo Hattie Collects American Red Cross Donations
Hilo Hattie would like to show its support in the wake of Thursday’s Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami and set up a donation program with the American Red Cross to help people affected by the disaster. All eight stores on Oahu, Maui, Kauai and the Big Island, including the new Island Edge by Hilo Hattie, at the Ala Moana Center will be accepting monetary donations for the relief efforts.
“We would like to make it convenient for visitors to Hawaii and for our local residents to support the American Red Cross’ disaster relief efforts for a country with whom we share a great kinship,” said Donald B.S. Kang, President and Chief Executive Officer of Pomare, Ltd., parent company of Hilo Hattie. He added that, “a large portion of our business and many of our employees have ties to Japan, and so it’s quite natural that Hilo Hattie do its part to help alleviate the devastation in Japan.”
Hilo Hattie will be accepting donations through March 31, 2011. All collections will be given to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief. Your gift enables the Red Cross to prepare for and provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance in response to the Thursday, March 10, 2011 disaster.
